Vitamin D Aid To Prostate Cancer Treatments
Vitamin D Aid To Prostate Cancer Treatments
More and more these days it seems clinical researches are coming up with additional reasons why vitamin D is so essential to the human body and to prostate cancer victims in particular. This report adds to that.
I have previously mentioned earlier studies indicating that many people dying of cancer evidence a deficiency of vitamin D and such is the case for prostate cancer victims.
Just today, although our Queensland temperatures were topping 30 degrees, a spent three ten minute periods in my garden facing the bay, exposing my nether regions to the sun, thereby ensuring maximum intake of vitamin D in that troublesome part of my anatomy - my prostate. And let us not forget, I have had two previous skin melanoma and one skin carcinoma. Regardless of that though, I still think it imperative that I maximize my uptake of vitamin D.
Besides, my theory is, rightly or otherwise, that the melanoma bug is lying dormant within me waiting the right opportunity to spring another surprise and a little sunshine is not going to make that much difference, if any. Any serious harm from the sun would have been sustained long ago, in my youth swimming daily both winter and summer and during my seven years in Asia. Today, I think that for me, the benefit of vitamin D far out-way the risk from moderate sun exposure.
Vitamin D Is The ‘It’ Nutrient Of The Moment
ScienceDaily (Jan. 14, 2009) — Vitamin D is quickly becoming the “it” nutrient with health benefits for diseases, including cancer, osteoporosis, heart disease and now diabetes.
A recent review article published by researchers from Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing concluded that adequate intake of vitamin D may prevent or delay the onset of diabetes and reduce complications for those who have already been diagnosed. These findings appeared in the latest issue of Diabetes Educator.
